Palanthas Engulfed in Shadows

Palanthas - For months now, the citizens of Palanthas have been witness to a strange occurrence at the site of the former Tower of High Sorcery. What appeared to be a shadowy remnant of the Tower would appear seemingly at random, then disappear just as quickly. The only commonality was the tower's master - the Shadow Sorcerer.

"I now believe that what we witnessed was a crossing over of another realm known as the Shadowfell into our own," Red Robe historian Jaclyn Cashell said. "Think of the Shadowfell as a dark mirror of our own world. Legend has it that Lord Soth himself is master of one such domain, a dark reflection of Dargaard Keep known as Nedragaard Keep."

The tower appeared precisely at midday, larger than ever, and blocking out the sun for certain areas of the Lordcity. Shades seemingly made of shadow rained down upon the city. Clerics of Mishakal mobilzed immediately to combat the threat, as did the few remaining Platinum mystics. Through prayer and inner light, the forces fought valiantly, though it seemed they would fall.

According to witnesses, a glimmer of light shone through the Shadow Tower nearly two hours after the battle began. A crack formed in the edifice, allowing sunlight to shine back through again. More cracks formed, until the edifice fell down. Shadowy clouds engulfed the entirety of the Lordcity, leaving it in complete darkness for an unknown period of time.

When the darkness cleared, all was as it was before, with one noticeable change. The Tower of High Sorcery had returned to Palanthas.
