Spears and Partisans Collide!

Palanthas- Within the past week, the Spears of Palanthas have interfered with Blue Partisans in several of their arrest attempts.

On Majetag, the Spears prevented the arrest of an elderly couple removed from their home along Bayside Road. The couple, Sophia and David Bransen, was accused of "Conspiracy for Potential Seditious Behavior," according to a warrant seized by the Spears. The Partisans were first disarmed, then knocked out and left unmasked in barrels along the harbor. The couple was uninjured.

"Conspiracy for Potential Seditious Behavior, they say? That's no crime on any book I'm familiar with," stated First Lieutenant Allan Hunter, who led the detachment who prevented the arrest. "I won't have these blue-clad patsies arresting people on made-up offenses on my watch, and neither will my comrades in arms. And by Kiri-Jolith if they manhandle any elder folk again, I'll leave those thugs more than a few bumps and bruises to deal with."

The Spears were also involved in two separate incidents on Misham, the first in which they stopped the arrest of five university students (three men and two women). In the second incident, the Spears interrupted a raid by the Blue Partisans on a baker's shop. The students were accused of "Conspiracy for Potential Seditious Behavior," as were Mr. and Mrs. Bransen, while the baker Jansen Uth Halman was accused of distributing slanderous literature to customers in his store. One of the students involved in the attempted arrest, Dale Wainwright, sustained minor injuries which were treated by a priest of Mishakal who witnessed the incident. No injuries to civilians were reported during the raid on Uth Halman's store.

"There was no evidence of any crime committed in either case. The students were stopped on their way to class, and the only papers in Master Uth Halman's store were his financial records." Warrant Officer Jürgen Culver said. "These Partisans claim they see the thoughts of others and can prevent crimes, but who holds these men accountable and makes sure they use this great power responsibly? In my view they can trump up charges against anyone who looks at them funny, and I for one will not tolerate it."

Officer Culver was asked about the incident in which a Blue Partisan was killed last week, as reported in the Herald.

"The perpetrator was not acting under our authority. The Spears want these Partisan thugs exposed, not killed in cold blood. It was not one of us." He replied. On the matter of the disappearances also reported in the Herald last week. "The Partisans have something to do with it I'm sure. We'll find evidence of it."

The Herald asked for comment from Colonel Donovan L'Inshere on the matters, but was informed by Officer Culver that the Colonel was unavailable for comment. When pressed for details, Officer Culver stated "That information is classified."

Adventure Hooks

The heroes are members of the Legion of Steel who have gotten word that the Blue Partisans have set a trap for the Palanthas Spears. The Partisans intend to use innocent people as bait to lure the Spears into striking against them at which time the Partisans plan to destroy the Spears. The Legionnaires must get this information into the hands of the Spears leadership before it is too late.
