IMPS Guild Exiled, Weapons Confiscated

Palanthas - The IMPS guild, the Inventing Madgnomes of Palanthas, Solamnia has been declared an outlaw organisation by Emperor Markham.

This week the Imps guild, the Inventing Madgnomes of Palanthas, Solamnia, an organisation that is well known for supplying the government of Palanthas with exotic yet effective tools, was outlawed by Jaymes Markham, Emperor of Solamnia. Early Friday morning the Blue Partisans launched a surprise raid on the IMPS guildhouse in effort to capture the gnome members.

"Somebody warned them," a Blue Partisan was overheard reporting to a superior. "Not one of the little gabblers is in the building, but we definitely saw them moving around in there just a few minutes back."

"Strip the building of all we want, then burn it down," theBlue Partisan officer replied.

The IMPS guild were working on many projects for the Palanthian government, the Blue Partisans were only interested in the weapon prototypes being developed. Amongst the dangerous weapons confiscated, was the Ironbolt Crossbow, a rapid firing automatic crossbow. Insider reports say that this antipersonnel weapon is capable of firing fifty bolts at the rate of one every three seconds, up to the range of three times that of a standard crossbow.

Another weapon taken was the Dragonbreath, a backpack that fires globs of molten fire from a nozzle. Although it is clearly not as dangerous as real fiery dragon breath, inside sources report that the gnomes achieved significantly high temperatures. Originally envisioned as naval weapons for fighting between ships, there is some concern amongst the citizens of Palanthas that these weapons will be turned on them.

"I used to think that these weapons were necessary for the safety of Palanthas," said one citizen who wished to remain anonymous. "Our soldiers face great danger at times and we should do our best to give them what advantages we can, but where do draw the line? Now these Blue Partisans have them, only time will tell how much we will regret all this."

The IMPS guildhouse was burned to the ground Friday evening as the sun went down.

Adventure Hooks

The heroes are members of the renegade Palanthas Spears. The leadership of the Spears knows the Blue Partisans will likely turn the weapons on groups like themselves at the first opportunity. The heroes are given the mission to recover the confiscated weapons if possible, or destroy them to keep the Blue Partisans from using them either on rebel forces in the city or the citizens of Palanthas.
