Eye in the Crowd – The Blue Partisans

Palanthas – Last week the Emperor stunned everyone by dissolving the Senate and unveiling his secret police force – the Blue Partisans. Little is known of the Blue Partisans except that they were instrumental in dismantling the Senate and have been granted broad powers of authority by the Emperor. Just today we learned that the man who once proposed reading the minds of the citizens of Palanthas is now the leader of the Blue Partisans.

In light of these recent revelations the Herald sought out some of the people who know Emperor Markham's best to get their responses.

Selinda Markham nee du Chagne, estranged wife of the Emperor said: "Jaymes is a brutal bastard. It doesn't surprise me his chief flunky is a guy who wants to get in the heads of the people of Palanthas. He and Jaymes make a great couple."

Coryn Brinefolk, Head of the White Robes and former associate of the Emperor had this to say: "It bothers me greatly that Jaymes would employ the services of the renegade mage, Grayson Halliwell. It was bad enough that he pardoned Halliwell for his crimes against Palanthians, but to give him a government position goes beyond the pale. Rest assured the Orders of High Sorcery will not let this matter rest."

Dram Feldspar, of Compound and Emperor Markham's one time friend simply said: "I've got nuthin to say. Leave me the Abyss alone."

Lord Amstern Chesney, Emperor Markham's official spokeman, had these words: "The Emperor is doing what he feels best for Palanthas nay for all of Solamnia. Some may not approve of his methods but you have to agree, he gets results. I'm sure once order has been restored we will all be much better off."
