Army In Sable's Swamp Confirmed

Inglewood - The investigative team sent into Sable's swamp has returned with confirmation of an army being gathered by an unknown creature supposedly created the black Dragon Overlord herself.

The small team sent by the town of Inglewood to investigate the possibility of hostile forces gathering within the swamp created by the former Dragon Overlord Sable returned this past Bakukal. Thorne Morland, a half-kender sorcerer and Steel Legionnaire, volunteered to lead the team, which consisted of Anrak Broketooth , a hobgoblin warrior and Inglewood townguard and Janyce Oakwood, a half-elf cleric of Mishakal and one of two survivors from Hunterston, a small town recently annihilated by forces from the swamp. Also Kahn-ahg, a bakali scout and ranger of the Smokyscales tribe and Kheruuk Half-Ogre, a ferocious barbarian warrior, joined the investigation.

"We went deep into the swamp, deeper than I have been before," said Legionnaire Thorne Morland. "We were forced to fight for our lives against the black's abominations several times, if it wasn't for Janyce and her goddess, we all would've been dead several times over. I don't know how he did it, but Kahn-ahg managed to sort through the muck enough to lead us through all that stinking mire to what he said was one of Sable's many lairs. A meeting was in progress, the leaders of a dozen different tribes of Bakali and goblins as well as one ogre chieftain were bowing and scaping to a creature I thought was a dragon."

"I wasn't as sure as Thorne that it was actually a dragon," said Janyce Oakwood. "Its wings looked like they were too small to lift such a swollen and bloated body, in fact they looked like they hadn't formed properly. It honestly reminded me of an oversized crocodile, no neck to speak of, staying low to the ground, clumsy on land but graceful in the water."

Onysablet, the now deceased black Dragon Overlord, was notorious for her creations, hideously monstrous mixtures of animals and humanoids, but this creature appears to be special. "It'sss a hybrid," said Kahn-ahg the Bakali. "Isss Venom, Sable'ss daughter. Rumorsss in the ssswamp sssaysss sssshe isss, half dragon - half hatori. Sssable altered her andsss increased hersss smartsss. Very crafty, very dangerousss."

Representatives from the local villages are gathering in Inglewood to devise a plan of action and Morland has sent a request to his superiors in the Legoin of Steel, asking for more support in defending the area from this new menace.
