High Watch falling 13 ![]() Dragonmage Attacked In Kalamanby Darcwulf, Staff Writer Kalaman - Another temporal anomaly has appeared this time in Kalaman. A so-called dragonmage and his companion dragon were attacked in Kalaman by a band of mysterious spell casters. This past Kirinor evening just as the sun was setting, a gold dragon with a fine boned rider landed on the edge of the Kalaman market, fortunately enough of the merchants had packed up their stalls and left. The two quickly made their way to the large well in the center of the market and began to peer down into its depths. After a couple of minutes of fervently discussing something, the brown robed man cast a spell, raising a staff up from out of the water below. "As the two were inspecting the staff," said Josh Greig, Knight of the Crown. "Near twenty grey clad people emerged from the shadows. The way they moved, like a military unit troubled me - almost as much as the weapons they carried, swords, knives, and staves. I drew my sword and shouted a warning and as I charged into the fight, all the Abyss broke loose. The individuals in grey were spellcasters and they unleashed many spells, lightening, ice monstrous fiends and more." The dragon and his rider responded with spells and fiery dragon breath, as brave members of the Kalaman town guard also ran to assist. "Stand back all of you," witnesses say one of the men in grey shouted. "We are the Annihilators of the Towers of High Sorcery, if you interfere in our war on the sorcerers, you will suffer their fate too! The dragonmage and his pet are renegades, criminals who must face our justice!" "I didn't know what they were talking about," said Josh Greig. "Nor did I care, nobody, and I mean nobody was going to hurt that gold dragon while I was alive. I continued to press the attack as did the Kalaman guard, until they retreated, disappearing in the back into shadows from which they came. We tended to the wounded; a Mishakite even tended a tear in the wing of the gold and then I asked what had brought about the attack." The dragon whose name was Sunrise told him that an agent of the Towers had stolen the staff. "The Staff of Magius is a powerful arcane artifact," added the dragonmage. "The wizards say I have no right to wield it as I am a sorcerer, not a wizard. My uncle the most powerful wizard Krynn has ever known gave it to me and if there was anything wrong with my using it, I think he would have known about it." When asked his name and that of his uncle, the dragonmage replied with the following. "Palin Majere, my uncle was the Archmage Raistlin Majere." |
