Academy of Sorcery Destroyed.... Again

Solace - The Academy of Sorcery on the outskirts of Solace has once again been razed to the ground.

This past *Monday* morn the Academy of Sorcery which overlooks the tree town of Solace, which had been in ruins since it's destruction in 420AC was once again whole. "I had at first suspected that it had been rebuilt by the sorcerers," said Gerard uth Mondar, Sheriff of Solace. "But it occurred to me it might be one of these temporal anomalies, so I cordoned off the area surrounding the Academy. My squad and I were guarding it later that night, just in case of trouble, when trouble is exactly what we got."

Shortly before dawn, a dozen mages, red, white and black teleported into the main courtyard, a tall athletic red robe with a limp in the lead. "I am Justarius, Head of the Conclave," witnesses say he called out to the towers. "By the authority of Solinari, Nuitari and Luinitari, I order all sorcerers to surrender or face lethal force!"

"This Justarius got no response, but then I don't think he was expecting any, I think he just wanted to make a statement by destroying their Academy." said Mondar. "He hurled a fireball at the centre tower and the whole world blew up or so it seemed. I was so far away I could barely see what was going on, but I was still thrown from my feet and the roar of the explosion set my ears ringing. I had my men stay hidden until sunrise, not wanting to risk anyone getting hurt."

Sheriff Mondar went in alone once it was light enough, to find only devastation. "I have never seen death and destruction on that scale and I hope to never see anything like it again. The mages were just chunks of charred flesh and from what I could piece together they had killed themselves. Somebody very clever had hollowed out the walls and filled them with something highly explosive, possibly this black powder of Markham's."

Calling in his men Mondar cautiously searched through the smoking rubble, eventually finding a single survivor, one that Mondar recognized. "We hadn't yet found anyone alive, but then we heard it, a weak scratching sound. We started digging fast. It was Dalamar the Dark under that partially collapsed wall. The right side of his face had been horribly burnt in the explosion."

Solaces Mishakalite's healed the badly burnt black robe mage, though his face remained scarred. He quickly teleported away before Mondar had the chance to speak with him.
