Return of the Revered Daughter

Palanthas - The Revered Daughter Crysania has returned in the form of a vampire to terrorise the city she once served.

Over the past week there has been numerous sightings of a beautiful woman that many claim to be Crysania Tarinius, Revered Daughter of Paladine. There are several paintings with excellent likenesses around Palanthas which show her citizens how the legendary cleric looked as a young lady, also most of the reported sightings have been by credible witnesses, including Morris Sheppard of the guard.

"Investigating information provided by a self proclaimed vampire hunter," said Morris Sheppard. "We discovered that a woman resembling Lady Crysania, calling herself Crys Tarin, was the last person seen with three men who are now missing. A task force made up of members of the guard, the holy orders, the kingfishers and the knighthood, set up a trap last night. I was the bait when this Crys Tarin materialised out of the fog, all fangs and claws. The kingfishers used a magical artifact supplied by the vampire hunter to bind the undead fiend into it's human form and keep it from changing shape, enabling us to engage. Things were going well until the vampire called on it's spawn, five people that it had killed, turning them into undead slaves, who rushed us from behind."

During the confusion of the conflict, the vampire almost escaped heading in the direction the docks. Still under the power of the artifacts magic, it was forced to flee on foot. It was met by the vampire hunter a weak, skinny man with an unhealthy pallor and greying auburn hair. It surged forward with unearthly speed seeking to overwhelm the hunter, but he brought forth a holy symbol. As the creature recoiled, the hunter raised his light crossbow and fired a wooden stake hitting it directly in the heart.

"It seemed to me that the hunter knew her, as he knelt by her body and brushed the hair from her eyes," said Garvon Sulasa, a Palanthian dock supervisor who witnessed the encounter. "So I asked him if he did know her and he said, "Yes. I once loved her, my sweet Angel." I thanked him for saving the city from his ex-girlfriend and with a shrug he replied "It's my job, I'm Raistlin the vampire slayer.""

The vampire hunter disappeared from the city in the commotion after the death of Crys Tarin, but further investigation by the Herald revealed that he had travelling companions. The first is a perky red haired half-kender named Willow, who is apparently a witch. Next is a smart mouthed, one eyed kender named Xander. Also his mentor, a bookish mad gnome named Giles. Lastly, is his attractive brother Caramon.
