Minotaur Revealed To Be Kazelati

Nethosak - Herald investigations into Elygar the mysterious minotaur seen aboard the elven pirate vessel the Ashaynnth have revealed him to be a Kazelati.

For many days officials of the minotaur government stonewalled Herald efforts to discover the truth of this mysterious individual.

"This Elygar is nothing more or less than a renegade, a base criminal," Bors es Valen, a sergeant of the Wyvern Legion and spokesman for the government of Sargasanti. "All societies even our glorious empire has its malcontents and reprobates. This Elygar will be found and we will send him into Sargas's embrace where he will face the ultimate judgment."

Finally the Herald tracked down a source amongst the elven population of Ambeon who was willing to talk with the guarantee of anonymity. "Elygar is a follower of Kiri-Jolith, a champion of justice and personal freedoms, no matter a person's race. We elves still in Silvanesti know him well, as he spent almost a year helping to smuggle refugees to the border. Finally a veteran of the Chaos War, who recognized him as a Kazelati, started asking too many questions and he was forced to flee."

According to sources within the Imperial Palace, the Kazelati are reputedly a rebellious faction of minotaurs that splintered from the Minotaur Empire after the Third Dragon War. The infamous minotaur rebel Kaziganthi de Orilg is said to have led a small group to the east where they settled on a series of remote islands and founded their own nation.

According to these same sources, the Kazelati revealed their existence to their cousins and assisted them in their fight against the agents of Chaos assaulting the Empire during the Chaos War. Since then the two nations have coexisted with an uneasy truce. It is unclear at this time whether or not Elygar is working independently or is acting with the official sanction of the Kazelati government.

In related news, no trace of the Ashaynnth or Santhia de Droka has yet been found, but the wreckage of another minotaur vessel was found in the Blood sea of Istar two days out from Flotsam.
