Rabbits Rob Caravan

Windkeep - A pay master caravan that travels all across Kharolis claims to have been robbed by rabbits.

Jurgen Pendlecost, 57, of Alsip supervises the paymaster caravan. He told the Herald:

"We were scarcely a day out of Alsip and still about a half a day out of Pensdale when the little blighters came upon us. At first there was just a few of them so my cook Torsten decided rabbit would be on the menu. He grabbed his club and climbed down off his wagon to collect them for his pot and was beset the little buggers. Imagine my surprise when one of them demanded our money."

The hold up occurred on the day of the Vernal Equinox, known more commonly as the first day of spring. This is the day when animals that have slumbered through the long winter awaken.

"This bunny demanded all our valuables in a crisp Tarsian accent," said Pendelcost. I would have laughed were it not for the deadly serious look in the rabbit's eyes and the tone of his voice. At a motion from the lead rabbit, hundreds more joined him on the road. We had no choice but to give into the bunny's demands."

According to the cargo manifest of the caravan, the bandits got away with the chest containing the pay for hundreds of Dark Knights operating within the Kharolis Region. They took nothing else.

"This is preposterous," said Baron Brian Winslow of Windkeep. "We both know what happened to the pay for the Dark Knights and it had nothing to do with rabbits. I don't buy Pendlecost's story for a second. He'd better find that pay chest and fast! I'm not taking the heat for this one."

Despite the numbers arrayed against the caravan no one was seriously hurt. The cook was treated for dozens to bite marks, but sustained no serious damage.

Adventure Hook

Jurgen Pendelcost is in trouble. The pay chest entrusted to him was stolen and now he stands to lose everything unless he recovers it. Pendelcost claims it was rabbits that stole the pay chest, but is that really what he saw? Who or what was behind the attack on the caravan by the rabbits? Were they even really rabbits? What will happen once the Dark Knights discover the theft of their pay?
