City Guard Increases Spear Recruiting

Palanthas - The City Guard is starting a massive recruiting drive for the elite Spears of Palanthas fighting force, according to a city guard spokesman.

"The Spears seek the best and brightest individuals to join the oldest and most decorated warriors the city of Palanthas has to offer," Warrant Officer Jurgen Culver said of the recruiting drive. "The Spears have served the city since the time of Vinas Solamnus, receive the very best training, and enjoy many benefits due to the city's finest soldiers: including 40 days paid leave, special mess hall priveliges, and incentive pay. Plus, opportunities for promotion abound for those who join the Spears."

The list of benefits is too extensive to print in this publication, Officer Culver stated, those interested should see a recruiter for more information. "Any citizen of the Province of Palanthas is eligible to join the Guard or the Spears. Those interested in joining the Spears should see Squad Sergeant David Marillos at the City Guard Barracks. We also seek candidates for the challenge of leading guardsmen as commissioned officers. Second Lieutenant Adria Imirillo is the head of recruiting for Officer Training School. Her office is in the Lord's Palace."

Soldiers already in the Guard should ask their sergeant for information on Spear training, Officer Culver said.
