Eye in the Crowd – The Wonders of Dracology

Palanthas - Dragons are perhaps the most widely recognizable species on the face of Krynn. They have become so ingrained in our culture that even the smallest child can tell you the all the different colors dragons come in without blinking an eyelash. However, delve much deeper and you will find that on the whole the average person knows little else about this magnificent creatures. For instance where to find the different color dragons, the manner of breath, or something as simple as identifying male or female.

Knowing this, the University of Palanthas has set out to answer those questions and more by including dracology as a new field of study. Dracology, or simply put the study of dragons, will offer students the opportunity to gain a first hand knowledge of dragons that few other living soles possess.

According to university representatives no other course has ever received such high enrollment. Indeed, with record setting enrollment the University is sure to make this new addition to the curriculum a high priority. Quintholas Tir-Lannon, perhaps Krynn's foremost dracologist, has been slated to head the new course. So the Herald wants to know...

Is dracology a waste of the students' time, or is it a degree plan with some merit?

Hugo Deknife, a Palanthas University alumnus voiced his feelings:
"It's just a passing fancy. Mark my words, as soon as these students see the real danger that comes from dealing with dragons first hand I have a feeling the university might see a drop off in attendance. Better that the school puts more of an emphasis on courses that will help these kids once they leave school."

Armistead Briand, a performer at the Dead Dwarf Inn had this to say:
"What a wonderful opportunity to see these fabulous creatures up close and personal. I think these courses will help dispel some of the rumors and fairy tales that surround all dragons. True, some are wickedly evil creatures, but not all of them are that way. Some dragons are wonderfully kind and intelligent creatures."

Marco Rigletow, a Red Robe mage stated the following:
"The University would not have offered this subject if a large number of people did not express a devoted interest in the topic. Dragons are mysterious, magical, and all at once very dangerous creatures. I hope this Quintholas Tir-Lannon knows what he is doing."
