After Deepwatch Hour falling 15 ![]() Mad Prophet Preaches in Labyrinthby Kendermage, Staff Writer Palanthas - The elusive Prophet of the Mage-God is reported to have been seen preaching to and accosting passers-by in Labyrinth. According to Dirk Waggoner, a local cartwright and several other witnesses, the man calling himself the Prophet of the Mage-God was harassing people as they went about their daily business in the Labyrinth. At several points he even grabbed people, forcing them to meet his gaze and admonishing them in a loud voice. He is reported to have told them, "You are destined to die when the Mage-God destroys this pathetic mud-ball and remakes it in his image! Only by being reborn of the mage storm and earning the mercy of the Mage-God can you hope to enter the coming paradise!" Waggoner told the Herald, "That lunatic hopped up on a on a crate and pointed his finger right at me and rattled off his pitch. I tried to ignore him and walk past him, but he grabbed my arm and forced me to look at him. His grip was like iron and his eyes had a crazed look to them. He said some word I can't pronounce and suddenly everything went black. When I woke up he was gone. I don't know what he did to me, but I've had a throbbing head ache ever since." Several witnesses reported seeing Waggoner topple over after the Mad Prophet, as he is being called, grabbed him. All present who met the gaze of the man report the same sensation, everything going black and a throbbing head ache thereafter. Other witnesses report seeing the man flee on foot shortly after Waggoner fell to the ground. The incident has been reported to the City Guard who declined to comment, citing an ongoing investigation. Rumor has it that the matter has been turned over to the Silver Hands. Those accosted by the Mad Prophet have been examined by clerics of the Halls of Healing who report finding nothing wrong with the victims, but are at a loss to explain the victims blackout and headache. |
