Eye in the Crowd – Is the End Really Near?

Palanthas - The Cityhome has seen its fair share of religious cults over the years. Hands down the largest influx of these would have been in the years following the Chaos Wars. All have come and gone now, and few are even remembered at all. Some of the more notable cults, and by that I mean ridiculous, were Daughters of the fallen Moons, Sons of the New Sun, and we mustn't forget the ever so charismatic Friends of the Tide. The Friends of the Tide were the ones that would walk out as far as they could into the water during high tide to achieve enlightenment.

However, that was all many years ago. Now there seems to be a new cult on the scene in our city that goes by the name of the Doomsayers. During one of this group's rallies last Misham four of its members were arrested, and are currently being held for disturbing the peace and resisting arrest. The rally took place outside of the Lord's Palace.

The groups' purpose is too herald the coming of the end of the world. In addition to that they claim to be peaceful, but after the arrest Misham past they will be hard pressed to sell that point to any potential members. The Herald wants to know...

How do you feel about this new religious cult, the Doomsayers?

Barnes Mc Mannes, a traveling bard, had this to say:
"Groups like this come and go so I pay them no mind. Their creed is to let the masses know of our impending doom. Well, thank you very much Mr. Doomsayer. I will be sure to watch out for the next fiery mountain headed my way."

Robyn Apshire, a sailor for hire, shared the following:
"Honestly they scare me. Don't get me wrong. I don't fear the end of the world. I fear these jokers getting some Tom Fool idea in their head that the end ain't getting here soon enough. So instead of waiting for it they just start offing people in the street. Those religious zealots types are dangerous. Given the choice between facing a dragon or a cult of religious zealots I would take the dragon any day. Those religious types are just are out of it."

Martin Bakshi, a 5 year old child accompanied by his mother, shouted his remark:
"My momma says those are bad men. I'm not scared of them, but I think she is because she always asks me to hold her hand when we see them. It's kinda embarrassing, but I really don't mind because afterwards she always makes me cookies."
