First Watch rising 16 ![]() Brush Infestation Strikes Palanthasby SephZero, Staff Writer Palanthas - Citizen concern has recently spiked over the current infestation of a breed of thorny brushes that have appeared amongst the decrepit buildings of Palanthas and have started to choke some of the alleyways. "It is simply impossible to turn a blind eye to this horrible infestation," Vandor Grizt, a local cooper whose residence lies near these outbreaks, commented. "They are unpleasant to look at and all sorts of stuff gets caught against the thorns. And I swear I saw something moving amidst the brushes. The situation is simply horrible." Outgrowth in decrepit sectors are fairly common, but residents have voiced concern with the recent spike in a particularly thorn breed of bushes that has taken root. This breed has been extremely virulent appearing in several different parts of the city in the last week. Local attempts at curbing the growth have been lackluster at best. "I tried paying some of the local kids to try and clear some of them out," Vandor complained, "but when I came to check on their progress, they had run off and it even looked like the brushes had increased. Good thing they haven't shown themselves around these parts since or I give them a right caning." The City Guard has promised to step up patrols around those areas in order to ensure that no trouble occur around these infestation to allay concerns over any danger posed by the brushes but has avoided any inquiries concerning a possible spread beyond current boundaries. News of the infestation has spread to other parts as a pair of socalled wild gnomes, claiming to hail from the community Picketville located in the Great Moors in Nordmaar, arrived in Palanthas, pledging to study this strange breed. "This is simply fascinating. I can't put my nose on it, but there is something quite unusual afoot here. I am certain that we'll be able to get to the bottom of this unusual breed of plants in no time. Notice how the thorns are..." Mossglow glowed before he proceeded on a two hour discussion on the nature of thorns and plants which the Herald has decided to cut. The City Guard has announced that it will keep an eye on the gnomes as well for the security and safety of everyone else. |
