Morning Watch falling 19 ![]() Eye in the Crowd – Does Quarantine Help Anythingby JOSHUASIGEP44, Staff Writer Palanthas - The Cityhome once again has found itself in yet another health crisis. Throughout the years Palanthas has had its fair share of public health crisis. Some of those have been engineered by individuals pursuing dark goals such as the poisoning of the cities water supply just a few months back. Others of these have been mundane outbreaks of illness brought on by a myriad of causes. This new threat to the city is causing somewhat more of a scare than the usual. Symptoms include, but are not limited to, animalistic behavior, high fevers, cold sweats, and staring for hours at the moons. Citizens in the Lower Cluster, New Ridge, and Whiterock have all reported instances of these symptoms. After researching the symptoms and possible treatments the city's leading health officials are no closer to defining the reason for either. In the interest of stemming the spread of the already rapidly growing disease, representatives from the Halls of Healing have requested that the effected areas be quarantined, effectively closing those areas off from the rest of the city. So the Herald wants to know... Do you think a quarantine of all effected areas is a proactive strike against the spread of this disease, or a last ditch effort? Ulion Pegtor, university student: "I think the City Senate is at a loss as to how to treat its spread so they are gong to just shut those areas off, and allow those people to die. City officials already have the cure for this "new plague" you can be sure of it. They deliberately start the spread of these diseases every once and awhile to keep the city in check. It's a well documented fact." Grist Mill, lumber jack: "It makes me feel better to know that those areas are shut up. I don't want any of my kids to come down with something due to some vagabond getting too close to them. Quarantine those districts and get those people the help they need to get better so we can move past this thing." Levi Briand, animal trainer: "They should do to them folk what I do to my horses when they take sick. Put 'em out of their misery. It's the most humane thing that can be done. I'm no medical expert but those people seem to be acting an awful lot like wild dogs. Barking, scratching, and howling at the moon. Seesh, dogs, more like wolves if you ask me." |
