Eye in the Crowd – Vigilante Behavior in the Cityhome

Palanthas - Last week a mob of vigilantes assailed a City Guard station on the west side of town with the sole purpose of murdering Lyber Blessed. Blessed was the Dark Knight who turned himself in a few weeks back. He was being held in Palanthas awaiting trial under the City Guard's watch. The City Guard made a proactive decision by moving Blessed just four nights before the attack took place. At the time of the attack Blessed was ship bound, well on his way to Sancrist.

The station was working with a full contingent of guards. Once the mob appeared the captain on duty ordered the crowd to disperse, and return to their homes. However, once he saw that the crowd was unwilling to cease, he apparently ordered his men to stand down. After gaining entrance into the station the mob accosted two City Guards who came to the defense of one of their comrades.

In all, nine people were arrested in an attempt to flee the scene. Those nine people were considered to be the instigators. Meline Bornar was quickly identified as the leader of the group and was arrested just a few hours after the incident took place. So the Herald wants to know...

Do you believe in vigilante justice?

Jefferson Digmon, a coachman, shared the following:

"Mishakal no! If we resort to that we are no better than those we are trying to get at. Now, I understand how someone could fall into that trap, but look what happened to those guards. What did those guys do wrong? All they did was go to work that day. They deserved better than what they got at the hand of that mob."

Clark Strange, a gardener, let his feelings be known:

"I don't support what those people did. That was a horrible thing indeed, but I support the idea. This Blessed character is a terrorist. He does not deserve a trial. He deserves to die at the hands of those he wronged. I feel bad for those guards, I do, but what were they doing fighting back. They should have just stood aside."

Vincent Cloud, a retired street planner, emphatically stated his views...

"Yes I do. I believe Lyber Blessed deserves to die, and when he does I hope he burns in the Abyss. I only wish I was there to do it myself."
