Sirrionite Plans Development near Shoikan Grove

Palanthas – The Palanthian Senate was shocked today when a high-ranking priest of Sirrion requested an audience to discuss a mysterious 'construction project' inside the City Core. The priest, who wished to remain unnamed, stated that he has a plan to bring 'new life' to Palanthas by developing the abandoned buildings surrounding Shoikan Grove.

"There is plenty of developable material there, and, frankly, if the fear aura that the Grove emitted was repressed, then those buildings should be renovated," the priest stated in a speech to a crowd on the steps of the Senate Hall. "I, for one, possess a magical item that emits an aura that combats the uneasy fear aura surrounding the Grove, and I plan to enter those old buildings and bring some new life in. I also possess the ability to make more of these items."

The priest then proceeded to walk into the aura of fear, holding a large red gemstone. Special observers stated that 'the priest showed no visible sign of fear as he approached one of the buildings that he wants to develop.'

"He showed resistance to the fear aura, which truly is remarkable," admitted Lord Igren Quenthin, a human noble who owns a series of masonry shops throughout Solamnia and Coastlund. "If he actually plans to develop any of those buildings, of course, then he'll need to create more of those items to fight the fear aura. If he does, then masons and architects stand to make a great deal of steel out of this deal."

"Those old moldering wrecks have been an eyesore for centuries," stated Lady Rowena uth Kiedren, the wife of Lord Gordon uth Kiedren, Knight of the Rose. "If this priest manages to accomplish all he says he can, then Palanthas will show some new invigoration at the heart. Of course, if he managed to burn down Shoikan Grove, it would be that much better, but I can't get my hopes up."

"If he is going to be developing those buildings, he'll need our support," Senator Belius Raggendale told the Herald. "He can't just market this new product and start the largest construction project Palanthas has ever seen without the approval of the Senate. And he can't just keep the knowledge to himself! I think several of our clerics from other religions will want to know how he made this magical item. If I had my way, he should market to the general public before beginning this private construction project."

The Senate has resolved to deliberate on this issue and give a response in two weeks time.
