Eye in the Crowd - Spring Cleaning in the Shoikan Grove

Palanthas - The Shoikan Grove has ever been a place of terror and dread for all that dwell within the walls of Palanthas. Its dark history stretches back to the time of the last Kingpriest when he waged his misguided war against the Orders of High Sorcery. In a last ditch effort to keep the Tower of High Sorcery in Palanthas out of the Kingpriest's grasp, Rannoch, a Black Robe mage flung himself from its highest tower. With his dying breath he cursed the grove, and tower.

Knowing full well of the curse, the Witches of the Circle of the Living Krynn sought to enter the Shoikan Grove in an attempt to dispel the ancient enchantments that have lain on that wood for hundreds of years. So with little or no fanfare and even less press the Witches of the Circle of the Living Krynn entered the Shoikan Grove Palast to do battle with the haunted grove.

Needless to say, the witches did not reemerge from the aforementioned grove. Having vanished from sight mere moments after entering the grove, the witches are presumed dead. So the Herald wants to know...

Was the attempt by the Witches of the Circle of the Living Krynn to rid the Shoikan Grove of its curse a heroic deed or an insane gesture to gain main stream acceptance?

Joyle Yukely, Palanthas nobleman, curtly stated the following:

"Well, how can I say this, and not come across rude? I'll just say this. Everyone remembers the stunt they pulled off during their mid-summer celebration. Running here and there drunk on wine, and naked. Not to put too fine a point on it, but people really did not like that at all. So I imagine in their minds they thought that doing something like this would put their group in everyone's good graces. Guess it didn't work out to well."

Machelle Snowhair, City Guard, shared his remarks:

"Well, I'm not surprised by their actions really. I mean, they go out of their way to get publicity and this is just another publicity case. In this case it went terribly wrong. I don't get what they were hoping to accomplish. We all know that the Shoikan Grove is filled with unspeakable horrors and it's not like this hasn't been tried before. Foolish women!"

Dee Sutter, house wife, reluctantly gave her thoughts:

"Main stream acceptance or no, there's just some things you don't' do. I would not walk up to s minotaur and pull on his horns. Well, not unless I had a death wish. Which is exactly what these women must have had...a death wish. The Shoikan Grove is horrible so I applaud their efforts, but have some sense. I guess the City Senate should have stopped them. Senators don't give a damn though about anything or anyone. I could go on, but I won't."
