Eye In the Crowd - Will the White Veil Cast a Shroud On the City?

Palanthas - Walk past any tavern these days and you can hear raised voices from the street. The Labyrinth and the Merchandising District, trading hubs of Palanthas, have been turned into whirlwinds of aggravated conversations. Indeed, on every street corner someone can be found on his soapbox shouting at passersby. Wonder what all the uproar is about?

An group of individuals calling themselves the White Veil made their existence and objective clear this past week. The White Veil's intent is to use all means at their disposal to stop Grayson Halliwell's Mind Reading bill that is currently being debated in the City Senate.

The letter left for city officials identified Remel Kithalan as the group's leader. To say that violence was threatened would be an understatement. Kithalan wrote in his letter that the White Veil would "declare war on the city of Palanthas and hurl our forces against the city to force the city to change its mind about mind reading"

So the Herald wants to know...

Do you think the White Veil is justified in their threats, or have they gone too far?

Demetrius Rendevald, senator of Palanthas – "The city Senate will not negotiate with cowards who hide behind threats. Remel Kithalan and his Veil need to realize that if this course of action is not stayed there will be consequences and repercussions. I don't care what they oppose, but threatening the city with war is taking it too far. They can be sure that the Senate does not respond well to threats. Rest assured, the full weight of the City Guard, Golden Shield, and our allies are at our disposal. I guarantee the Veil is not helping this bill's opposition. The White Veil is only strengthening the supporters' point."

Austly Jankins, palace guard – "This Kithalan character needs to understand a few things first. How is attacking the city going to help anything? Once the line is crossed he becomes no better than the Dark Knights. This is my home, and I will defend it. I'm no supporter of the Senate, but they will suffer no threats. To the Abyss with him and his Veil."

Remius Staklon, student at the University of Palanthas – "Kithalan's got the right idea. If the Senate will not listen to us then we have to make them listen. The entire city thinks this bill is bad idea, and still a few of the senators press the issue. The few does not rule the many, and if we are pushed aside...Well, then it's revolution."
