Drunken Sorcerer Arrested After Reckless Use of Fire Magic

Palanthas - A sorcerer disrupted a performance at The Song of Life Tavern Bakukal night with a destructive display of drunken pyrotechnics.

When members of the Golden Shield arrived on the scene they found a table in the common room of the tavern on fire and the culprit passed out on the floor. The fire was extinguished before anyone was seriously injured or there was significant damage to the establishment, said Captain Brac Stosin of the Golden Shield.

"During the show the man had been sitting quietly at his table drinking and swaying to the music," Stosin said. "He apparently had a small flame lit in his left hand that he held aloft during the performance to show his appreciation for the music."

That evening, witnesses said the sorcerer consumed at least 10 mugs of ale over the course of two watch rotations.

Kender flutist Kaylee Waveotter was performing when the sorcerer lost control of his magic.

"I guess he slipped or swore or both or something and the next thing I knew there was lots of fire shooting out of both of his hands. That table full of beer he was sitting at caught fire really quick," Waveotter said.

The man was arrested and charged with destruction of property and unlawful magic use. He is now incarcerated pending trial.
