Revered Daughter of Paladine Kidnapped

Palanthas - Revered Daughter of Paladine Clarissa Thurston has been missing since last Bracha, said the City Guard.

"We suspect foul play," said Sir Lotrian Tallbranch, Knight of the Rose.

However, an anonymous source on the City Guard has revealed that authorities have information allegedly linking the Revered Daughter's disappearance to the increased number of burglaries in Palanthas the last two weeks.

Convicted burglar Milo "The Mooch" Severson allegedly had information regarding a "guild war" between two criminal organizations in the city, one of which he claimed to be a part of, said the source.

Severson's attempted burglary of the Temple of Paladine two weeks ago was the first reported incident in the series of burglaries and attempted break-ins recently experienced throughout Palanthas.

Severson was arrested and was awaiting trial. However, he escaped from custody last Kirinor night with the help of a kender accomplice.

Horace Elderdrake, 23, of Palanthas, has freely admitted to aiding Severson in his escape from jail and is being questioned further by the City Guard.

"Thurston disappeared some time last Bracha between High Watch and Seventh Watch," said Commander Richard uth Koeckert of the City Guard. "The Revered Daughter of Paladine was attending the downtown auction of the supposed bones of the deceased deities Paladine and Takhisis to protest the event. This is the last place witnesses report seeing her," Koeckert said.

"We have any number of people who heard the Revered Daughter speak out against the auction just before the event got under way," Koeckert said. "However, according to acolytes at the Temple of Paladine she did not show up for her evening devotions as per usual that night. Concerned, they contacted the City Guard."

In addition to helping the City Guard patrol areas of Palanthas recently victimized by crime members of the Solamnic Knighthood are also lending their considerable skills and resources to finding the missing Reverend Daughter.

"Not only will I pray to Kiri-Jolith for Clarissa's safe return, but I will be actively helping investigators in the streets search for clues," said Sir Martin Belward, Knight of the Sword.

Solamnic Auxiliary mages will also be using their divination magics in conjunction with the Sword Knight's god-granted powers to help expedite the search for the missing Revered Daughter.

Priest of Takhisis Kryon Darkwind wished the Watch well in finding the missing priestess.

"It would be terrible if someone had finally taken it upon themselves to kidnap and kill an upstanding citizen of this city like Clarissa Thurston," Darkwind said. "However, I'm sure that Solamnic knights will enjoy as much success in this matter as they have in their recent criminal investigations."
