Loose Lips
Location: North of the Golden Estates next to the Navy Yards
Open: Dusk to dawn
Quality of Service: 1/5
Quality of Food: 5/5
Review: Built into a shipwreck. Even though Khellendros dropped the ship onto its current location rather roughly it has a pleasantly renovated inside room. A few outside tables sit at the foot of the yards, from where you can watch the passing traffic on foot and in boats. Service is non-existant except for the cook and the owner (who rarely shows up), but that doesn't matter because this tiny place is home to some of the most imaginative cooking to be found anywhere on Krynn.
Specials: The Dirk is a drink that steals your money and stabs you in the back (figuratively only, it is wonderful stuff), and the Cracklefire is a stew that will teach you what the dragonriders already know about the sensation of flying.
In Addition: The cook (Mariah) is an amazing source of information once you get to know her better.

Lunchbasket
Location: On the Aesthetics Row just North of the Old City Wall
Open: Dawn to dusk
Quality of Service: 5/5
Quality of Food: 2/5 (5/5 for the specials)
Review: Owned by Betty "Granny" Framton, this nice little tavern is squeaky clean and the service is superb. Scantily clad waitresses with wide smiles work quickly and efficiently. The guest book reveals that many Palanthian nobles frequent here. Sadly however the menu doesn't try to be smart. This is basic food, with all the standard Palanthian classics at a reasonable price.
Specials: While the rest of the food is standard fare the Lunchbasket has two extra-special dishes to whet your appetite. Rumbleberry Pie will make anyone purr with delight (as proven by a group of minotaurs sitting next to me, truly hilarious). Finally the dish that gives the tavern its name, the Lunchbasket, is a basket filled to the brim with the finest chicken legs this side of Ansalon. Highly recommended.
In Addition: Granny is seeking a family heirloom stolen from her home (which is located above the Lunchbasket). Anyone interested in tracking it down should contact Granny for more information. Large reward promised.

The Mother Load
Location: West of New City right by Vingaard Road
Open: Noon to dusk
Quality of Service: 2/5
Quality of Food: 4/5
Review: Built to look like the entrance of a gold mine this tavern is very popular among the working class. The Innkeeper is a gigantic woman (no ogre blood as far I could tell) called Annie with a spirited laugh. Service is friendly, but very slow due to the massive amounts of people dining at this vast hall. The food looks standard, but makes your tongue tingle in the most fascinating manner. Every dish has been spiced perfectly.
Specials: None, but the regular food is excellent.
In Addition: Annie is looking for a trustworthy group of people who could get her more of her secret spices. More details from her.
