Miisia Genyei

Article written by Uziel

Miisia Genyei (? AC - ? AC) was a female Human that was a priestess of Mislaxa that became the most well known follower of Mislaxa in the Age of Despair. She became considered almost a patron saint of the cult of Mislaxa, and served as an inspiration and model by which future followers measured themselves. Miisia grew up on the western slopes of the Ilquar Mountains with her family clan of Genyei. Her family were goat-herders and a respected part of the Alan-Atu tribe.

In 22 AC, Miisia's father and brothers returned home with a wounded soldier. The young girl felt terribly unwell as he approached, as if invisible wounds had opened up all over her body. She shakingly went to the soldier's side and healed his wounds, but was horrified that she could feel his pain. A troubled Miisia ran far from home, and Marsval Solarzz, the healed soldier, came after Miisia to comfort her. Whilst the pair spoke, the dark soldiers of Lord Bylarr came in search of Marsval and reached the home of the Genyei Clan. The soldiers massacred the family and burnt down the Genyei home. A terrified Miisia could feel the deaths of her family members from afar, and she went with Marsval in the mountains, as she had nowhere else to go any longer.

In the northernmost mountains of the Tamire, Miisia and Marsval came across a group of Merkitsa Elves, led by the elf Kyyy. Miisia healed the disease that ravaged Kyyy's body, and the elven chieftain then had his elves accompany Miisia and Marsval to the summit they journeyed to. At the Temple of the Masters of Light and Dark, Miisia witnessed Bylarr use the Blackgem to animate the temple elemental to raze his foes. However Miisia laid her hands upon the elemental, healing him of the corrupting influence of Bylarr. The freed corruptive forces killed Bylarr and then the entire summit was healed from the corruption that had formerly shrouded it. Miisia finally came to the realisation that her healing powers were not a curse, but a blessing of the gods, and she went on to become the greatest healer of Taladas.

Kender Tales

In some tales, Miisia is referred to as an Uigan, however she is always listed as living on the western slopes of the Ilquar Mountains, which is the home of the Alan-Atu, and that her folk were goat herders (the traditional occupation of most Alan-Atu).
