Nightmare Sea

The Nightmare Sea was the third part of the Maelstrom after the Tightening Ring. It was here that the Maelstrom's storms started to unleash their full power. Ships would be struck by lightning and sails would be torn by the strong winds. The next part of the Maelstrom was the Heart of Darkness.

During the night, moaning and screams could be heard on the wind. Staring too long into the water people would see scary images of faces and crawling hands. Sometimes red mist would cover ships and Blood Sea Imps would attack. Also, prior to the end of the War of the Lance ships may be attacked by the King of the Deep.
