Silvaama

The Silvaama is a special piece of timber that is used in the construction of ships made by the Silvanaes Elves of Armach. The timber is blessed by the priests of the Sea Lord, who then imbue the Silvaama with a soul in order to "birth" the new vessel.

Omens are observed during the birth, which the priests interpret as the fortune of the boat. Oftentimes, bad omens will result in the captain breaking the Silvaama to release the evil spirit, and then starting over their search for a new Silvaama.
