Hoor PeopleArticle written by UzielThe Hoor People are the indigenous inhabitants of the southwest realm of Taladas, that would later become known as Armach, with the arrival of the Silvanaes Elves. A barbaric and simple folk, the Hoor people lived in tribes, but with the arrival of the elves, the tribes united to wage war against the new invader. The Hoor People eventually formed an alliance with the elves, and the two races formed the beginnings of the Confederacy of Armach. Since this time, the Hoor People have changed both their appearance and have been greatly educated, rising them far above the original barbaric state they were in. CharacteristicsThe Hoor People are a tall folk, standing around 5' 10" or more, and have either black or brown skin, large eyes and black hair. Female Hoor are stocky and big-boned, whilst the men are lean and muscular. Originally male Hoor would wear a colored vest (the color denoted the tribe they were from), and baggy pants secured with a sash. When they went hunting, the males would often wear either a loincloth or just go naked, only painting their bodies with muds and dyes of the region. Female Hoor would wear a series of sashes that would cover them from head to toe. With the arrival of the Silvanaes Elves, male Hoor now often wear leather trousers whilst hunting, and belted robes are worn by both men and women. Elvish styled boots and moccasins are prevalent as footwear by both genders amongst the Hoor People. The colored tribal sash is still worn instead of a belt over the robes however, since the original tribal system is still recognised by all the Hoor People. Most of the Hoor People worship the Sea Lord, however a number of them have turned in more recent times to the underground worship of Usa the Mighty . The Hoor People who follow Usa the Mighty, believe that they need to unify the many kingdoms of Armach under one ruler. However the Silvanaes Elves are greatly opposed to this worship and seek to capture these dark worshippers. When caught, these humans are forced to forswear their dark god or be executed. Those who do forswear are often hunted down by their former brethren anyway. The followers of Usa the Mighty have sought out an allegiance with the dark nation of Thenol, and it is feared by many that the Hoor People will ultimately unite with Thenol and turn on the elves.
