Legion Imperius

The Legion Imperius is a military unit that is separate from all the other units of the Legions of Eragas. They are frequently referred to as the Black Cloaks, are of various races, and form the private army of the Emperor of the Imperial League. Members of the Black Cloaks are the finest warriors in the empire and have their every need seen to. They are trained from a young age to be fanatically loyal to their ruler, and will willingly throw their lives away to save the Emperor.

The Legion Imperius loosely numbers around 5000 soldiers, and it's members are greatly feared and respected throughout the empire. The commander of the Black Cloaks (sometimes known as Commander of the Bodyguard) reports directly to the Emperor, and has some dealings with the Empress as well.
