BergastArticle written by UzielBergasts are a type of undead creature that are the remains of the followers of Kristophus that chose to not follow him all the way to Kristophan. These followers were transformed by the dark magic in the province of Okami into bergasts. Even though the huts and fields that they once tended are all long gone, the bergasts go through the motions of life as if everything was fine. The bergasts cut wood, dwell in their huts, go out hunting and so forth.
The only interruption to their duties comes when something living comes near, at which point the bergasts grow hostile and attack instantly. The undead are driven by dark magic and frequently mutter about their hatred of the living. References
