Midsummer NightArticle written by UzielMidsummer Night is an important day for the priesthood of Jijin, in which the Uigan priestesses prepare great bonfires at sacred sites and gather the colts and foals to be named. Each horse is blooded and scarred to identify it's clan, and then anointed with mare's milk. The head priestess of Jijin then whispers the secret name into the ear of the horse. Men are not allowed to attend the ceremony, and other women of the Uigan assist with handling the horses. References
