LemuelArticle written by TirinelLemuel (? AC - 342 AC) was a minor herbalist and Mage who lived in Haven, owning a mage shop and an extensive amount of herbs. He was a short, bald, squatty man, and very polite.
Early YearsLemuel's father had been an adept War Mage, and had married an extremely beautiful woman. Lemuel's father had wished his son to have a talent at magic, and follow in his steps, but when the time for Lemuel's test came, Par-Salian refused, saying Lemuel would surely die. The next day, his father had walked out of the house, and had never returned. BelzorLemuel suffered tyrannical persecution from the Priests of the make-shift God Belzor, as they feared that he would find out their secret from cheating money of the poor. They would stand outside his shop, shouting that he was a heretic and should be killed. After this, he found a snakeskin hanging on his door. He decided to shut the mageware house, and move to Palanthas. Raistlin Majere, an adept student from Master Theobald's school in Solace, had come to purchase some of the wares his teacher had told of. Lemuel had nearly finished packing, uprooting his plants and storing them on different carts, when Raistlin came. After a few minutes of persuasion, he was let in and found various books of importance, while Lemuel chattered about his history. His last act of friendship with Raistlin was to pass on a knife to cut the bonds of death from his hands when he was being burnt on the stake by Belzor's priests. That knife later served as a last defense for Raistlin. The last knowledge of Lemuel was after Raistlin's Test, when Antimodes and Caramon Majere had carried Raistlin to Haven, as he had procured pneumonia on the road to the Mad Baron's army. References
