The Roster of LoyaltyArticle written by AmbroThe Roster of Loyalty is a volume of the old Measure. It contained rules for heraldic crests of the Knights of Solamnia. Some believe that The Illustrated Guide to the Roster of Loyalty is a companion to this volume of the Measure. The Roster stipulated that a crest must be in the standard shield shape sometimes called a field. This was to represent the unity of the knighthood. It prohibited the use of any kind of godly symbols or representations. The only exception was with the High Clerist. Also, the Kingfisher is considered a symbol for the knighthood as a whole and could not be used in a crest. Representations of evil creatures could not be used either unless they were represented as dead or dying. Exceptions to this have been made especially after the Cataclysm. References
