Hall of Audience (Great Temple)

Article written by Ambro

The Hall of Audience or Audience Hall was where the Kingpriest held court in the Great Temple of Istar. It was the innermost chamber in the basilica of the temple. The room formed a perfect circle that was 200 paces across. The ceiling of the hall was the frosted crystal dome of the basilica. The walls of the hall were carved to resemble huge rose petals that curved up the wall forming what looked like a huge rose flower. Along the walls were curtained galleries and antechambers. The floor was silver veined marble and starting at the center was a blue mosaic that looked like rushing waves leading to the white dais of the Kingpriest. There were seven stairs leading up to the dais and on the top was a golden throne that was wreathed in roses.

Kender Tale

An older source said the floor was white granite instead of white marble.

Behind the Scenes

A flower vase that Tracy Hickman made during Junior High School inspired the description of the room.
