The Slayer

Article written by Uziel

The Slayer (? AC – 425 AC) was a male Human who was a member of the Faceless Brethren, the followers of the long-dead archmage, Maladar an-Desh. Originally hailing from the Rainward Isles, he met The Master and the others who would join the Faceless Brethren on the island of Suluk. He would then discard his identity and became known as The Slayer. Like the other followers of Maladar, he bore numerous self-inflicted wounds, and had carved away large amounts of flesh from his face, showing the bone underneath. His face was little more than a leering skull, with blazing eyes, a black tongue and long teeth.

In 424 AC, the Slayer and the rest of the Brethren had setup their headquarters at the Temple of Akh-tazi in Neron. They plotted a means to recover the Hooded One to enable the return of Maladar. The Slayer was in charge of killing the sacrificial victims on the temple's altar, and was also given the task of hunting down the Hooded One. It was the Slayer who led the Shadow-Fiends across Taladas in search of the statue, and he was the one who personally killed the Voice of the Stars in Armach-nesti. The Slayer also infiltrated Coldhope Keep and orchestrated the abduction of Essana Forlo.

When the Brethren faced off against Barreth Forlo and his companions, The Slayer used lightning bolts to hold his foes at bay. However once The Speaker was cut down, the Slayer soon found himself overwhelmed and was cut down by Barreth Forlo.
