Cave LordsArticle written by Paul RecordThe Cave Lords of Ansalon usually reach upwards of 11 feet or more. They can have the same skin tones as their smaller cousins, as well as the typical Goblin features. They tend to be obese, often weighing more than 600 pounds. Their size is misleading, as Cave Lords are quick and agile.
Most cave lords are intelligent. They use their intellect and cunning in clever ways to fool opponents who expect a ponderous, dim-witted creature. Cave Lords are treated with much respect and loyalty by their followers. No one knows where the Cave Lords came from and goblins claim they did not exist prior to the Chaos War. After their arrival, they quickly took control of many of the goblin tribes across Ansalon. They live underground, rarely venturing to the surface, relying instead upon its smaller goblin servants to bring it food. If two cave lords encounter each other, they tend to join up and work together. The Cave Lords live in seclusion and rarely leave their lairs. If they do leave, they take a large number of warriors with them. They prefer their slothful lifestyles and they hate going to the surface. Cave Lords have a unique ability in that they can eat any Goblinoid to heal their wounds. For this ability to work the creature must be dead. Cave Lords also seem to have a special sway of their lesser cousins and can command great numbers of them to do their bidding. Cave Lords lead tribes of goblin warriors and hunters. They prey to the same gods as their smaller cousins and tend to speak common and goblin. References
