The Battle of Blackblood was a battle fought between the Hobgoblins of Estwilde and the Knights of Solamnia in Solamnia just prior to the Cataclysm. The hobgoblins and Humans of Lemish made a pact, which allowed for the hobgoblins to descend in secret through the Southern Dargaard Mountains and into Solamnia through Lemish. The hobgoblins went straight to Solanthus and attacked. It was a hard fought battle, but eventually the Knights beat back the hobgoblins. The result was that it exposed Lemishite treachery, and almost started a war between the two nations. Since Solamnia was already at war with the Empire of Ergoth due to the Greatmeld, it became a stalemate on the border of Lemish.
