Sammek Thale (? AC – ? AC) was a male Human who was a merchant based in the town of Malton. He occasionally journeyed to other parts of Taladas for trading, and in 424 AC, he traded with the Fianawar Dwarves of Uld and acquired the Hooded One. On his return trip home aboard his ship the White Worm, his vessel was boarded by the pirates of Harlad the Grey. The Minotaur pirates stole everything of worth, including the prized statue, and locked Sammek and his crew in the hold. On escaping, Sammek reported the incident to Barreth Forlo at Coldhope Keep, hoping for some justice to be meted out to Harlad. The merchant then returned to Malton empty-handed, where his business partners took his ship from him and left him a broken man with little money. Sammek was present in the town, drinking away his remaining coin when the Uigan horde approached the city and prepared to invade. Listening to an inner voice, Sammek wisely fled and escaped the destruction of Malton, reaching Coldhope Keep, where he warned Barreth Forlo of the coming invasion. References
