NerakanArticle written by Kranar DroginNerakans are those people that are from the Valley of Neraka, including Neraka, Jelek, Telvan, and Kortal in Taman Busuk. Nerakans are a mix of mountain nomad and Istaran survivors from the Cataclysm. Almost all civilized Nerakans live in these fortified cities, or in fortified compounds near the cities. The Knights of Neraka have a strong hold over the people. Most of the powerful and rich families have at least one family member in the knighthood. Even though Sanction is no longer part of the Nerakan culture, many of the people there still have the traits of a Nerakan. Men are shorter than the typical Human male, and even shorter than their women. Men are stocky, swarthy, and hardy, while women have a razor-sharp temper and are known for their exotic looks. Most Nerakans are brutal, backstabbing, cutthroat, paranoid, mistrustful, opportunistic, cunning, and follow a type of mercenary lifestyle from their worship of the dark gods. All Nerakans speak Common and Nerakese, while they may also learn the Draconic Language, Dwarven, the Estwilde Language, Goblin Language, Khurish Language, Nordmaarian, the Ogre Language, or the Solamnic Language.
