Square of Spears

The Square of Spears was a large open plaza that was located directly in front of the palace of Aurim. The plaza became famous for an incident that would later become known as the Great Impalement.

During the reign of Emperor Maladar an-Desh, the nobility tired of the many atrocities that he was carrying out. In response they attempted to coup to remove him from power. The coup failed and in response, the emperor ordered that every lord send his second son to the square. As the emperor watched from the highest tower of Aurim, he ordered his followers to skewer every young man onto barbed iron stakes.
