Ashkoom (? - ? AC) was a female Ocean Strider. She had the skin, like other ocean striders, similar to killer whales. Ashkoom was known to have a soft voice. Her mate was Shakhall and together they had at least two daughters. She also considered the Dargonesti Elf Brysis a daughter and was impressed by how passionate the elf could be.

Like all Ocean Striders, Ashkoom lived alone without others of her race to prevent their combined large appetites from culling the surrounding waters of eatable life.

Conclave

In 426 AC, Ashkoom and Shakhall were invited by Brysis to the first conclave of aquatic races in Dimernost to discuss the World Gash. While there the city was attacked by Undead. Shakhall was killed in the attack. Ashkoom left the city to tell her children of Shakhall's death and to prepare his body and spirit for the Spawning Deeps.

After the joint Sea Elf expedition to the World Gash, there was a wedding between Berrion Silverwake and Mercy Windspeaker in Dimernost. Ashkoom and two of her daughters attended the wedding.

Whale Migration

Later in 426 AC, while her friends Brysis and Echo Fury were spending time together, they found a group of old whales led by a Crest-breaker going on a suicide mission into a domain of a Dragon Turtle named Stone-Splitter. Once they finally were able to communicate with the Crest-breaker they were told that the whales were swimming into Stone-Splitter's domain as a distraction as a massive group of various types of whales traveled through the domain on a mass migration out of the Courrain Ocean. The group agreed to help the whales fight off predators until Stone-Splitter arrived.

After Brysis reported the migration to the Steward of Istar, Apoletta, Brysis left Istar to rejoin Ashkoom to find more crest-breakers to consult with them.
