Kemian Ambrodel (? PC - ? PC) was a Silvanesti Elf and the son of Nirakina and Tamanier Ambrodel. The elf was raised in the elven nation of Qualinost and rose through the ranks to become a general of the Guards of the Sun. Kemian was described as a handsome elf who had fair hair and gray-blue eyes. In 1892 PC, Kemian led a small force of mounted troops to drive out slavers in the Qualinesti region, with the aid of Lord Anakardain and his small army. He soon learnt that one of his captains, Verhanna Kanan and some guards had defeated the slavers and uncovered that the slaver leader was none other than Ulvian Kanan, Verhanna's brother and the son of Kith-Kanan, Speaker of the Sun. Kemian ordered that the prince be released and escorted back to Qualinost with a measure of respect to face his father. Kemian then reported the events of the slavers and Ulvian's capture to Kith-Kanan, who then requested the general return to the forests to continue patrolling for slavers.

Kith-Kanan's Successor

When Ulvian had been imprisoned for his crimes, Kemian was touted by some as becoming the successor of Kith-Kanan and future Speaker of the Sun. However the people made a public outcry about this notion, saying they did not want a Silvanesti courtier to take the throne, and that they only wanted a child of Kith-Kanan or none. Over the following weeks, through the machinations of Senator Clovanos and the Loyalists, the anger of the people escalated into taunts and even rotten fruit being thrown at Kemian in the street.

Pursuing Drulethen

Kith, Tamanier and Kemian took off to Pax Tharkas, where Ulvian had been imprisoned as a slave for his crimes, to put an end to the association between the sorcerer Drulethen and Ulvian, who had seemingly become friends. Kemian arrived at Pax Tharkas with Kith-Kanan and Tamanier, only to learn that Drulethen had devastated the area and escaped with Ulvian. The group of elves begun the pursuit of the escapees, finally reaching them at Black Stone Peak. However whilst Kith-Kanan was able to enter Dru's lair, the Breath of Hiddukel prevented Kemian and the other soldiers. The arrival of Verhanna Kanan, Greenhands and Rufus Wrinklecap surprised them soon after. Once Drulethen had gained his entire amulet and transformed himself into a wyvern, the Breath of Hiddukel dissipated. Kemian joined Greenhands and the soldiers in the final fight against Drulethen. Kemian was gravely injured, however Greenhands defeated the wyvern and carried the wounded Kemian cleared of Dru's lair. Back in the camp, Kemian was healed of his injuries by Greenhands and returned to Qualinost on the Sons of the Wind with Kith-Kanan and their companions.

Governor of Pax Tharkas

Following the death of Kith-Kanan, Kemian became the new Governor of Pax Tharkas. In 1891 PC he confessed his feelings for Verhanna to Silveran Kanan (formerly known as Greenhands). He asked for her hand in marriage and for his approval, which was granted. In order to win Verhanna's hand, the elf-maiden challenged him to a duel. When Kemian defeated Verhanna in battle, she consented to marry him and the pair had several children, including a daughter, Vixa. Years later, Kemian despaired that his daughter Vixa was not a refined elf-maiden, but instead a warrior like his wife had been. However he was proud that she had the same love of learning that he had.
