MerithynosArticle written by Uziel
Merithynos (? PC - ? PC) was a male Silvanesti elf that was a member of Clan Silver Moon and a member of the Guards of the Sun. His father, who insisted he either join the army or the priesthood, originally forced him into joining the Qualinesti army. In the army, he served as the lieutenant of captain Verhanna Kanan. In 1892 PC, Merithynos and Verhanna came across the kender Rufus Wrinklecap, who led them to the camp of some slavers which they were hunting. They subdued the slavers, with the aid of Rufus, and captured the leader of the slavers, who turned out to be Verhanna's brother Ulvian. Under orders from his superior, Merithynos put Ulvian in chains, until the arrival of Lord Kemian Ambrodel, who ordered the half-elven prince be freed from chains and taken with a measure of respect back to Qualinost. Kith-Kanan, Speaker of the Sun then commanded Merithynos to be his son's keeper, and keep the half-elven prince secured in the Arcuballis Tower. Shortly after, Ulvian was sentenced to work as a slave for Feldrin Feldspar as a laborer at Pax Tharkas, to which Merithynos escorted him. The tall fair-haired elf befriended the dwarven architect and master of Pax Tharkas, Feldrin Feldspar, during his stay at the fortress. After a short time at Pax Tharkas, a landslide occurred in which Ulvian was caught and his leg was pinned under a rock. When Merithynos went to aid the prince, the elven slave Drulethen asked him to get an onyx ring from Feldrin's tent. Merithynos complied and witnessed Drulethen use magic to save Ulvian. Not long after this event, Drulethen attempted to engineer an escape from Pax Tharkas for himself and Ulvian. The sorcerer created a magical golem as a diversion, and when Merithynos tried to stop the golem, he was incapacitated for a short time, whilst the pair of slaves got away. References
