KencathedrusArticle written by UzielKencathedrus (? PC - 2190 PC) was a Silvanesti Elf who was a respected warrior and general of the Silvanesti army. He was known to have trained Kith-Kanan in the warrior arts, and was rarely seen without his armor and scarlet-plumed helmet. Kencathedrus was a descendant of House Royal, and was considered strict and obsessive about his weapons and the training of his troops. In 2193 PC, he was chosen by Silvanesti prince Sithas to lead Hermathya to the Tower of the Stars for her wedding.
In 2192 PC, he attended the hunting party with princes Sithas and {Kith-Kanan, and Sithel, Speaker of the Stars. When the Speaker was struck down and killed, Kencathedrus assisted Sithas in returning his father's body to Silvanost. The trusted general was sent by Sithas, to aid Kith-Kanan and the Wildrunners at Sithelbec in 2191 PC, at the head of a small force. However the battle against the forces of General Giarna proved disastrous, with a shattered army led by Kencathedrus and Parnigar fleeing back to Sithelbec, and leaving Kith-Kanan in the enemy's hands. Parnigar and Kencathedrus rejoiced when Kith-Kanan returned to Sithelbec, and maintained the defense of their stronghold against the Army of Ergoth throughout 2190 PC. When the Hylar dwarves and the Windriders arrived at Sithelbec, the elven forces engaged the Ergothian forces. Kencathedrus led a brave charge in one of thickest pockets of the battle. The fierce general defeated the Ergothians, but suffered numerous wounds, and died in Kith-Kanan's arms. From Beyond the GraveA legend surfaced amongst the Hest elves that when the elven general Hestantafalas and the mage Vedvedsica fled the ire of Sithas, that the Speaker sent Kencathedrus and his forces to hunt them down. This is what supposedly caused the Hest elves to flee underground, to escape the wrath of the fearsome general. This legend cannot be true however, as it is supposed to have occurred after the Battle of Sithelbec. References
