Parnigar (? PC - 2140 PC) was a male Silvanesti Elf who was the oldest of the sergeants in Kith-Kanan's militia in 2192 PC. Prior to this, Parnigar had served in the Second Dragon War and was a respected warrior amongst the elves. He had a gray and leathery face, green eyes and muscular arms that belied his warrior skills. The elf had taken a human as his wife, and bore some more human traits than elven at times, such as a restless agitation. Parnigar was born into House Protector and as soon as he was able to manage a sword, he had joined the Wildrunners. He initially led several campaigns to root out brigands in the elven lands, but found little evidence of them. He aided Kith-Kanan in the construction of Sithelbec and attended the hunting party with his commander, Prince Sithas and Sithel, Speaker of the Stars, during which the Speaker was cut down by an Ergothian woodsman.

War with Ergoth

In 2191 PC, Parnigar had become Kith-Kanan's chief aide and best scout amongst the Wildrunners, and bore the title 'Sergeant-Major'. With the arrival of General Kencathedrus and his army, the Wildrunners marched under Kith-Kanan and Parnigar against one of the armies of Ergoth. However the battle against the forces of General Giarna proved disastrous, with a shattered army led by Kencathedrus and Parnigar fleeing back to Sithelbec, and leaving Kith-Kanan in the enemy's hands. Parnigar and Kencathedrus rejoiced when Kith-Kanan returned to Sithelbec, and maintained the defense of their stronghold against the Army of Ergoth throughout 2190 PC.

The loyal warrior served under Kith-Kanan for the next few decades as the war with Ergoth continued. Following the passing of his first wife, he took another human wife, Mari, in 2140 PC. Kith-Kanan sent his son Ulvian to learn his warrior skills under his lieutenant Parnigar. However the lieutenant was forced to send Ulvian back, after the half-elf showed no desire or inclination to learn any skills. The final battle against the forces of Ergoth occurred shortly after, with Parnigar, Kith-Kanan, Vanesti and a small band of bodyguards located just afar from the frontlines. Giarna launched an attack on the group, and cut down Parnigar, before the general himself was finally defeated.

Beyond the Grave

Much like the wild stories of Kencathedrus after his death, the legend of Parnigar stirred the occasional tale. It is rumored that he led a campaign following the Kinslayer War with the dwarven fighter Thulden Forkbeard in which they captured the sorcerer Drulethen. Also a scholar mistakenly reported that Parnigar was present in Qualinost in 1892 PC to greet Kith-Kanan back from his adventures against Drulethen as well.

Both reports are known to be incorrect, as Parnigar was killed during the Kinslayer War.
