Groller Dagmar (? - ? AC) was a seven-foot tall half-ogre, who's wife and children were killed, and it led him down a path that he would confront Dragon Overlords. Groller was burly, tanned, had rough features, a wide forehead, pug-like face, and wide-set black eyes. He has also been called strong, caring, and amiable. It was hard for him to communicate, due to the fact that he didn't know how to read or write.

Early Life

Groller was living a very peaceful, well-liked life in a village in Kern with his pregnant wife Maethrel and daughter in 411 AC. A Green Dragon, on a whim, decided to attack the village, killing many of the citizens along with Groller's family. All Groller heard was the screaming of those affected by this terrible attack. Groller wished for the screaming to stop, or that he not hear it anymore. Once he said that, a tiny, gnome-like man (who might have been a scion) who was gold in coloring and had gold eyes granted him his wish, and Groller became deaf. The next day, a wolf came to him named Fury. For the next three years, Groller would go from ship to ship selling his services at sea, but living his own personal nightmare in his dreams.

Hero of the Heart

In 414 AC, Dhamon Grimwulf and the other Heroes saved Groller after he had been captured by ogres for use by Skie. During this time of journeying, he became good friends with a hill dwarf named Jasper Fireforge. At one point in their adventure, Groller and Jasper fell into a pit. Groller saved Jasper from serious injury, but Groller's back was broken. Groller kept telling his friend Jasper to heal him, and with that, Jasper gained back his faith in the healing art and fixed Groller's back.

Later on that same year, Groller was fighting some Knights of Takhisis when six of them supposedly killed him. When Jasper got to him though, he was able to save the half-ogre's life again. He was able to continue on to the Window to the Stars and confront the Dragon Overlords of Sable, Skie, Malys, Frost, and Beryl, to stop Malys from becoming the next Takhisis. Through the combined efforts of the Heroes, they were able to stop her from ascending, but Skie was able to go off through the portal.

Following the victory, Groller decided to go back to Kern and visit the graves of his wife and daughter. He vowed to continue fighting the Overlords and their minions though.

Legion of Steel

Sometime after visiting the graves of his family, he offered his services for the good of the Legion of Steel. Since most of his knowledge concerned the sea or the ogres, the Legion was quick to add him to the roles. He and Fury continue to sail in the waters around northern and northeastern Ansalon.
