Kolan Tyel (? – 415 AC) was the Master Guardian of the Citadel Guardians. He was once a member of the Legion of Steel. Kolan went to the Citadel of Light to get a stronger moral direction. There he invented the rank structure used by the Citadel Guardians. At the same time he became a Citadel Aspirant and rose through the mystic ranks. He eventually took the role he invented of Master Guardian.

He served as a Master for more than ten years. In 415 AC, Elian Assassins attempted to kill Goldmoon along The Walk. While Goldmoon was wounded, Kolan died protecting the First Master. He was succeeded as Master Guardian by his second, Kentry.
