TheoranArticle written by trogers81Theoran (? PC - ? PC) was a Gold Dragon of great size and power that lived long ago during the Age of Dreams. He was a defender of the Scions, sorcerers who received their powers not from the gods but from the earth.
The Age of DreamsThe wizards who received their powers from the moon gods fought hard against the chaotic magic of the Scions in the years after 2645 PC. For a time, the Scions used their Wild Sorcery and fought back against the wizards but were soon on the edge of defeat. Theoran helped them fight but even he could not stand against the new High Orders of Sorcery. Because he had aided the Scions in their battle, an organization of wizards called the Black Brotherhood of the Dragon came after Theoran. The Brotherhood imprisoned Theoran's soul inside a mystical seal and bound his body, draining his blood to fuel the altering powers of the Dragon Well. For thousands of years, they kept him bound in catacombs of the Broken Citadel of Karoc-Tor, and Theoran lived a slave to their evil power. The Age of DespairIn the winter of 353 AC, Sindri Suncatcher, Nearra, and Catriona Goodlund were held captive by the bandit king, Gadion. In escaping the prison, they ventured into the dark catacombs of Karoc-tor and uncovered the site of Theoran's prison, the Dragon Well. Gadion learned of the young heroes' escape and sent men to destroy them. After fighting with Gadion and his men near the Dragon Well, the young Kender known as Sindri Suncatcher destroyed the dragon seal on the wall and freed the captured dragon, Theoran. Theoran was freed to give vengeance to his prison and vowed to destroy it. Before he destroyed the Citadel of Karoc-Tor, Theoran blew a mystical ring of smoke around the young kender, Sindri Suncatcher, passing to him the forgotten power of the Scions long ago and promised him that he would be a great Wizard some day. The dragon's soul was freed and Theoran's massive body began to shine. The dragon let the young heroes escape and began to destroy his prison of Karoc-Tor. Within minutes, the mist form of Theoran had destroyed the Broken Citadel of Karoc-Tor and was finally freed to pass on into the Grey. References
