He is of low noble birth but this has not impeded his rise in the Cavaliers of Ergoth. Far exceeding expectations, he was knighted on his seventeenth birthday. His tactical genius and horsemanship brought him to the notice of his superiors. Soon afterward, he became Decurion, Chief of Staff for the Praetor. After the previous Praetor retired, Uthred succeeded him. He has served the Empire for twenty years. References
