Bay of Branchala

The Bay of Branchala is a small fjord-like extension of the Turbidus Ocean that leads north from the Lordcity of Palanthas. High grounds rise to the east and west of the bay, and the waters are pristine and a deep blue in color. The mouth of the bay lies behind a giant reef that shelters the waters from most of the swells and storms that are typical along the northern coastline of Ansalon.

The harbor of Palanthas is built onto the southern edges of the bay. The waters of the Bay of Branchala are known to house all kinds of deep-water fish, which are prized by both the fisherman of Palanthas, and by the local porpoises that often dwell there.

It is rumored that great gatherings of Dragon Turtles will occur in the Bay of Branchala during storms. The Dragon Turtles use their breath weapons to perpetuate the storms.
