Aquatic Dragons are good Dragons that have been so rare that they were the stuff of Dargonesti Elf and Dimernesti Elf legend. After the War of Souls they have become more common. They prefer to live in the deep ocean and have specialized scales that protect them from the pressures of the great depths. The lengths of their bodies are covered in a huge fringe that is capable of controllable bioluminescence. Aquatic dragons' scales are covered in tiger-like stripes of blue, green, and purple. Their eyes are typically azure or cobalt and their snouts are similar in shape as a sea horse. Aquatic dragons' blood is green in color. Typically schools of latern-fish follow aquatic dragons around.

When aquatic dragons mate, they stay together until the female lays the eggs. The male then guards the eggs. A task he is designed to do with the fringes on his tail form special sacks that he can transport the eggs or young wyrmlings around in.

These dragons are collectors of anything from the surface. Their treasure troves are usually filled with items recovered from shipwrecks.

Abilities

Aquatic dragons are capable of changing their form into an animal or humanoid. They can breathe a cone of chilling darkness below water and a cone of frost above the waves. Older aquatic dragons are capable of manifesting walls of water. In combat, they will use this ability to separate multiple foes.

Pre War of Souls

The reason why Aquatic Dragons are barely the thing of legends is because they lived in seclusion in the sea below Krynn's northern pole. The dragons called this region Saturnalia.

Post War of Souls

After the War of Souls, the Sea Dragon Urchin attacked and pillaged Saturnalia. She killed many aquatic dragons. The god Habbakuk himself stepped in and managed to defeat the sea dragon, but as she died she cursed Saturnalia. After that many aquatic dragons felt that their ancestral home was not quiet right and felt wanderlust to leave it. While a few elders remained behind, many aquatic dragons migrated away.
